The Confluence Update: Vegetation Cleanup/Work South of Cesar Chavez
Initial work continues near Third and Fourth Streets for a new biofiltration pond to improve water quality in Waller Creek. In addition, limited work south of Cesar Chavez Street will start Wednesday, June 7.
Construction Begins at The Confluence
You may notice the contractor clearing some vegetation for access, concentrating on removing invasive plants first. Please keep in mind that the project will include extensive plantings of native vegetation and trees. The project will improve both the water quality in Waller Creek and wildlife habitat.

The Confluence, formerly called the Creek Delta, is the continuation of the 35-acre Waterloo Greenway park and trail system along Waller Creek in downtown Austin. A public-private partnership between the City of Austin and Waterloo Greenway Conservancy help make this work possible.
Waterloo Greenway Awarded Historic $9M Federal Funding for Austin Green Space
Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, the City of Austin, and U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett announced monumental support by the federal government to propel the next important phase of Waterloo Greenway’s expansive park system project forward – The Confluence.
