The Confluence Update: Vegetation Cleanup/Work South of Cesar Chavez

Initial work continues near Third and Fourth Streets for a new biofiltration pond to improve water quality in Waller Creek. In addition, limited work south of Cesar Chavez Street will start Wednesday, June 7.

The work includes vegetation clearing, fencing, and limited storage of equipment on the west side of Waller Creek. Work hours will be weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A portion of public trail that leads from the Butler Trail, north to Cesar Chavez next to the Lakeside Apartments (Housing Authority of the City of Austin), will be closed for two to four weeks. There will be no impacts to the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail.

The map shows the temporary trail closure as well as a nearby sidewalk closure for a private project.

If you have questions about the project, please reach out to Joel Lewis, the project manager, at Joel.Lewis@austintexas.gov or 512-974-7730.
