We’re thrilled to continue our free community offerings this summer with a new lineup of exciting events coming to Waterloo Park this July through August.
Austinites are invited to join for history-centered park tours, sunset movies, and educational programs produced in collaboration with local organizations. This summer series of family-friendly activities is open to all at no cost.
“This summer break we invite you to bring your family and friends out to Waterloo Park for an all-new slate of free community programming,” said Waterloo Greenway CEO Jesús Aguirre. “We are grateful to collaborate with more amazing local programming partners this season, like Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Austin Parks Foundation, and Families in Nature to name a few.”
“At Austin Parks Foundation, we’re excited to celebrate our 30th anniversary by bringing back our signature Movies in the Park program to parks across the city for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Austin Parks Foundation CEO Colin Wallis. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with amazing partners like Waterloo Greenway Conservancy on this program to ensure Austin residents can enjoy free movies in the beautiful green spaces we all love so much.”
After a successful spring season of serving thousands of Austinites in weekly fitness and family programming, Waterloo Greenway plans to resume Weekly Workouts and early childhood education programs this fall.
Located in the heart of downtown Austin along a restored Waller Creek, Waterloo Park is a central hub of activity featuring more than 1.5 miles of scenic trails, thousands of native plants, imaginative playscapes, and the 5,000-capacity Moody Amphitheater. The 11-acre greenspace is a public park, restored in partnership with the City of Austin, and is open daily from 5am-10pm for everyone to explore and enjoy.
