Volunteers Needed for Spring Park Prep at Waterloo Greenway

Springtime is approaching and we need your help to keep Waterloo Park beautiful and thriving! In these hands-on volunteer workshops, you’ll learn how to cut back herbaceous perennials, groundcovers, trees, shrubs, and grasses throughout the park, all while meeting other plant-loving experts and community members. Volunteers will also assist with collecting/spreading seeds throughout the Hill Country Garden.

Spring Park Prep will take place from 12:30pm – 3:00pm on the following dates:

  • Thursday, February 9
  • Wednesday, February 15
  • Thursday, February 16
  • Monday, February 20
  • Tuesday, February 21

Meeting Location: Meredith Heritage Tree Deck at Waterloo Park – 1301 Trinity St, Austin, TX


We kindly ask that you wear appropriate clothing and bring any of the following tools/equipment you may have at home:

  • Water Bottle 
  • Gloves
  • Knee pads
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Hand pruners
  • Loppers
  • Rake

Space is limited. This opportunity is open to people of all ages—any children who participate must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants must be comfortable working outdoors, navigating uneven surfaces, standing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting.
