Fourth Annual Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic Announced

The Waller Creek Conservancy is proud to announce the fourth annual Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic at Palm Park on Saturday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. Families are invited to come spread their blankets, sit with their neighbors, and enjoy a wonderful night along Waller Creek at Austin’s favorite free community picnic.

Chefs from 20 of Austin’s most beloved restaurants will be preparing picnic basket dinners for two, ranging in price from $20 to $175, on sale now at wallercreekpicnic.org. Among the options are specially curated offerings from local eateries Café No Sé, Central Standard, Contigo, Easy Tiger, Elizabeth Street Cafe, El Naranjo, Franklin BBQ, Home Slice, Jeffrey’s, Juliet, La Condesa, Lenoir, Lucy’s Fried Chicken, Olamaie, Patricia’s Table, Salt Lick BBQ, Sway, Uchi/Uchiko, Visconti, and Weather Up. Attendees are welcome to purchase picnic baskets or may bring their own spread from home. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the event.

This year, for the first time ever, the Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic will feature a special Park Friends Forever (PFF) package. For a $200 donation, basket-buyers will have the option to add the PFF package, which includes valet parking, a 2016 picnic blanket, koozies, and other surprise treats. All proceeds from the PFF package and picnic baskets will raise funds and awareness for the Waller Creek Conservancy.

The event is free and open to the public.

A special thank you to the talented advertising agency Guerilla Suit in the creation of the graphics for this year’s picnic.
