Annual Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic returns on April 8!

The Waller Creek Conservancy is excited to announce the fifth annual Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic at Palm Park on Saturday, April 8, starting at 6:30 pm. Families are invited to bring their blankets, mix and mingle with their neighbors, listen to music, and enjoy a wonderful night along Waller Creek at Austin’s favorite free community picnic.

Chefs from many of Austin’s most beloved restaurants will prepare picnic basket dinners for two, starting at $40, on sale later this month at wallercreekpicnic.org, including: Baby Greens, Blue Dahlia Bistro, The Brewer’s Table, Bullfight, Café No Sé, Central Standard, Clark’s, Easy Tiger, Franklin Barbecue, Goodall’s Kitchen, Home Slice, June’s, Justine’s, Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, Kuneho, La Condesa, Lucy’s Fried Chicken, Noble Sandwiches, Olamaie, Patricia’s Table, Salt Lick BBQ, Sway, and Uchiko. Attendees are welcome to purchase picnic baskets or may bring their own spread.

“The annual Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic has become an Austin favorite and is a time for us to celebrate the future of the Waller Creek Park district with our friends and neighbors,” said Bryan Rubio, Chief Development Officer for the Conservancy. “We’re thrilled to have some of Austin’s top restaurants participating and can’t wait to see what this year’s baskets have in store.”

For the second year, the Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic will feature a special Park Friends Forever (PFF) package. Basket-buyers will have the option to add the PFF package, which includes valet parking, a limited edition 2017 picnic blanket, and other surprise treats. All proceeds from picnic baskets and the PFF package will raise funds and awareness for Waller Creek Conservancy, the local non-profit dedicated to the revitalization of Waller Creek. The Pop-Up Picnic is free and open to the public. Invite your friends!
