2:00 PM – Recess with Castle Hill Fitness

Inspired by the best part of school. Come ready to PLAY!!! Expect to use a variety of equipment like jump ropes and pool noodles. This full body cardio-heavy class is all about the game. From tag to bear crawl races, never the same class twice!

3:00 PMBboy City XXVII Cypher at Waterloo Park 

Join Hope 4 Hip Hop and Waterloo Greenway for an open cypher (dance jam) ignited and led by Hope 4 Hip Hop instructors and featuring local Bboy & Bgirl students and special guest performers from around the world (Russia, South Korea, Ukraine, & Mexico). All are welcome to join the circle.

Join Hope 4 Hip Hop after the cypher as they celebrate their 25th anniversary with BBoy City XXVII at Mohawk!  Tickets for the BBoy City XXVII Finals, one of the best breakin’ events in Texas and the United States, are available at www.hope4hiphop.org/bboycity!

4:00 PM – Capoeira with Everybody Studios

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. It was developed by enslaved Africans in Brazil at the beginning of the 16th century. It is known for its acrobatic and complex maneuvers, often involving hands on the ground and inverted kicks.

5:00 PM – Tango & Salsa Dance Class & Party with Esquina Tango

Come learn the structure, etiquette, and culture of both Tango & Salsa dance-styles from start to finish in a relaxed atmosphere. Students will learn about lead-follow connection and some dance moves to connect with music and navigate! Class will be followed by an open-dance party, where beginners, as well as experienced dancers, are welcome to “la pista”, the dance floor, to enjoy a “tanda” with fellow dancers. Mask required.

5:30 PM – Salsa Class
6:00 PM – Tango & Latin Dance Party

This drop-in creative workshop gives young writers an opportunity to explore storytelling, express their thoughts, and engage their creativity and language skills in a fun and supportive environment. 

Meet the Author: Summer Nilsson, The Land of the Pines

The workshop is inspired by native East Texas author Summer Nilsson’s debut novel, The Land of the PinesVividly bringing to life a cast of creatures, The Land of the Pines is a thought-provoking fantasy tale of friendship and fortitude that connects readers to the transformative power of kindness and intention, all while reinforcing our universal connection to one another.
