Read Together: “What I Am”

Gather around the Meredith Heritage Tree Deck for an outdoor storytime featuring local authors engaging and inspiring children and families with dynamic storytelling and hands-on learning activities.

Participating families will receive a free book (while supplies last). 

After storytime, participate in hands-on crafts and a Music & Movement class from Creative Action! Designed to inspire creativity, encourage physical and emotional development, and support bonding and connection for parents and children.

Austin Public Library’s Book Trike will be onsite to share giveaways, books, and other items from their collection, information and online resources with the community.

About What I Am

Explores and celebrates the complexities of what makes us who we are in this comforting and thoughtful picture book.

About the Author:

Divya Srinivasan lives in Austin, Texas. Her illustrations have appeared in the New Yorker, and she has done work for This American Life, They Might Be Giants, Sundance Channel, Sufjan Stevens, and Weird Al Yankovic, among others. Divya was also an animator on the film Waking Life. She is the author and illustrator of the picture books Little Owl’s Night, Little Owl’s Day, Little Owl’s Snow, and Octopus Alone, and she illustrated the picture book Cinnamon, written by Neil Gaiman.
