An Update to Our Waterloo Greenway Community in Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak

At Waterloo Greenway, community is at the heart of everything we do. Like so many of you and the organizations you serve, we are in ongoing dialogue about the best way to prioritize community in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. In challenging times, our instinct is to come together, lend support, and creatively problem solve; we strive to do all of this while also practicing social distancing and other recommended behaviors.

With the health and well-being of our community foremost in our minds and following guidelines outlined by the CDC, as well as local and national health authorities, Waterloo Greenway will be suspending public programs through May 1st, or until it is safe and healthy for the residents of Austin to gather in large groups again. Be sure to check the City of Austin’s COVID-19 response page for information about the current situation and to find local resources.

Waterloo Greenway staff is working remotely for now. We remain as committed as ever to staying connected with you. You can reach us in the ways you always have and, if you don’t already, be sure to follow us on social media and check our website for updates.

As we take time to care for each other and our community, it’s also important that we care for ourselves. If you feel safe and comfortable, we encourage you to spend time outdoors, enjoy nature, and stay active.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to being able to gather again along Waller Creek soon.

Warmly,

Peter Mullan
