Boundary breaking Austin-based ensemble, line upon line, is set to deliver a fearless and exciting performance at Concert on the Creek on Sunday, September 23, 2018.
Formed in 2009, the creatively adventurous trio met playing in the University of Texas’s percussion ensemble classes. After music school, the group’s three members (Adam Bedell, Cullen Faulk, and Matthew Teodori) decided to strike out on their own and design opportunities that challenged the status quo and turn their passion into a professional performance career.
Since then, the trio has premiered twenty-nine new works, performed and given educational clinics at colleges and universities in twenty-one different states, and maintained educational and outreach roles with the Austin Chamber Music Center. In March 2014, the group’s first international tour included six different engagements throughout England, Switzerland and Germany.
line upon line has twice been named “Best Ensemble” by the Austin Critics’ Table and listed as one of the Top 10 Dance/Classical Music Treasures by the Austin Chronicle. The Austinist called line upon line “the premier new music percussion ensemble in Texas and the South” and the Austin American-Statesman considers the group “a riveting, always-surprising and delightful trio.”
