Waller Creek Conservancy is excited to announced––for the first time––a public Call for Ideas for installations for Creek Show 2017. This annual, light-based art exhibit, held every November on Waller Creek, draws more than 10,000 Austinites and visitors to downtown during a ten-night event designed to bring awareness to the Conservancy’s future revitalization and transformation of Waller Creek.
“Creek Show continues to delight and inspire our community,” Ingrid Spencer, Creek Show Artistic Director, said. “As the selection committee thought about how to expand this phenomenal community program we knew we needed to tap into diverse, creative talent across Austin. We look forward to seeing what Austinites propose for Creek Show 2017!”
Artist submissions will be open to the public for the last two weeks in January. New and emerging Austin-based artists and designers are encouraged to apply. Entries may be submitted on creekshow.com from January 15-31.
The Creek Show 2017 Selection Committee will notify finalists in March. The selected designers will receive an honorarium for the production of their proposed work. For complete details regarding requirements, budget, and timeline, please visit creekshow.com.
