Waterloo Greenway, in partnership with Fusebox Festival and Frida Friday ATX, is thrilled to announce the exciting entertainment lineup for MXTX: A Cross-Border Exchange at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park on Saturday, April 16, presented by PNC Bank.
Gather with us as we honor and celebrate the tapestry of people, traditions and historical ties woven between Texas and Mexico.
Curated by Las Ofrendas, exciting Frida Friday ATX programming will surrounding the world premiere of Golden Hornet’s MXTX, including an intersectional BIPOC, Queer, Latinx and creatives-centered local mercado y más featuring 45 vendor pop-ups.
Guests can experience live painting and art demos by Jaguar de Jade and Laura Clay, with gallery wall exhibits by Nikki Diaz, Carmen Rangel, Monica Ceniceros, Mel Navarro, Laura Clay, Valerie Mercedes Schmidt, and more.
Enjoy live music from DJ Mexican Blackbird, Diggy Dutch, and Miss Leslie Nava, who will be spinning cumbia, norteño, and an ode to Selena in honor of the legendary artist’s birthday. Families can take part in hands-on children’s activities by Con Mi Madre & Latinitas.

This dynamic work is a collaboration of numerous Texas- and Mexico-based artists, including:
- Golden Hornet, an Austin-based non-profit led by Graham Reynolds;
- Orión García, founder of the Latinx DJ/producer/artist collective, Peligrosa;
- Coka Treviño, art entrepreneur from Monterrey, Mexico and founder of The Projecto;
- Felipe Pérez Santiago, highly-acclaimed Mexico City composer, sound artist, and current artist-in-residence at California’s SETI Institute;
- Ramón Amezcua “Bostich” of the groundbreaking Nortec Collective, based in Tijuana;
- Rubén Albarrán, renowned vocalist and activist from Mexico City, lead singer of the legendary Cafe Tacvba;
- Gabriela Ortiz, Latin Grammy-nominated composer and recipient of Mexico’s National Prize for Arts & Literature.
Attendance is free and open to the public but advanced reservations are encouraged.
