This past weekend, we celebrated yet another historic milestone for Waterloo Greenway and our community — our very first ticketed concerts at Moody Amphitheater!
Nearly 5,000 Austinites came out each night to experience the inaugural concerts at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park headlined by one of Texas’ most beloved artists, Gary Clark Jr.
The Austin icon and Grammy Award-winning musician played an electrifying two-night show on August 20 and 21 featuring special guests Blackillac and Kydd Jones.
Southern duo Blackillac, made up of rappers ZEALE and Phranchyze, opened the show on Friday night before Gary Clark Jr. took the stage as the first headlining artist at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park.
Gary Clark Jr. kept the momentum going the second night, delivering another high-energy performance on the Moody Amphitheater stage. Born-and-raised Austin singer-songwriter, producer, and emcee Kydd Jones opened the show.
Resident food trucks Taco Baby and Burro Cheese Kitchen operated throughout the night just outside the venue, offering delicious local food options to Austinites before they headed in to enjoy the show. Inside the venue, FBR Management offered snacks by Chef Tim Love, craft cocktails, wine and beer, Coca-Cola products, and more. Concert-goers stayed cool and hydrated with Richard’s Rainwater and Rambler Sparkling Water, offered in a variety of exciting flavors.
The VIP Tito’s Rooftop Terrace, stylishly furnished by Four Hands, provided a bird’s-eye view of the stage to enjoy the night’s festivities. Box Seat Holders also had access to the air-conditioned PNC Lounge, complete with Waterloo Greenway merch and a dedicated bar.
There was no better way to kick off our inaugural concert season at Moody Amphitheater than with two incredible nights of live music in the heart of downtown, featuring local hero Gary Clark Jr. and openers Blackillac and Kydd Jones. We can’t wait to keep the music going with our upcoming shows this September!
