Thank you to everyone who attended our latest Generation Waller Happy Hour on May 14. Luckily, the rain stayed away so we could enjoy Cheer Up Charlie’s outdoor space. We had a great turn out for Peter’s Q&A session. The audience submitted some really thoughtful questions. We hope everyone learned something new about the project and our wonderful CEO!
Since re-launching our young leaders group as Generation Waller in April, we’ve had over twenty new members join! Generation Waller is a great way to get involved with like-minded people who are passionate about urban green space. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of something that will change the city we all love. There is something for everyone from creative events and volunteer work to meaningful fundraising. For more information or if you’re ready to sign up now, click here!
Mark your calendar; we have two Gen Waller events coming up in June.
June 3rd will be the first official meeting of Generation Waller at Waller Creek Pub House at 6pm. Anyone who is already a member, or intends to become one, is welcome to attend. The Steering Committee will be talking about ongoing work the group is doing, committee structures, and leadership opportunities.
On June 18th, we will be hosting a Gen Waller x Cap Metro meet up at Stubb’s at 6pm! This will be an opportunity to get an overview of the Cap Metro transit planning for the future.
Whether you join Gen Waller or not, we need your help as a volunteer! We are always looking for excited people to assist us with events, creek clean ups, and special projects. You can join the list here. Our next volunteer opportunity is National Trails Day Creek Clean Up on June 6. Register today!
