Celebrate PRIDE Month at Waterloo Park on June 11

Waterloo Greenway is proud to support free inclusive family-friendly programming at Waterloo Park. Rainbow on the Creek was curated and produced by Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, in partnership with community organizations. Event sponsors were not involved in the production or planning of the day’s activities.

Celebrate National Pride Month at Waterloo Park with the return of Waterloo Greenway’s Rainbow on the Creek on Saturday, June 11. Rainbow on the Creek is a free family-friendly celebration that connects, educates, and celebrates Austin’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQIA+) community. The celebration will include 25+ activations by LGBTQIA+ nonprofits and partners, a Queer BIPOC and Latinx artisan & craft market, gender-affirming care & sexual health resources, and many more activities for the whole family.

This free family-friendly celebration is presented by Google and features local partners aGLIFF, Austin Public Library, Beyond Brotha, Dance Waterloo, Frida Friday ATX, Six Square, The George Washington Carver Museum, and Workout with Erica Nix. Community resources will include free onsite gender-affirming care & sexual health testing services, presented by Vivent Health.

Rainbow on the Creek aims to connect and promote Austin-area LGBTQIA+ resources and communities through curated performances and activities that celebrate Austin’s spirit of inclusion, unity, and acceptance of diverse LGBTQIA+ cultures, communities of color, and varied genders and sexualities.

Community partners onsite will include All Gimmicks Coffee, aGLIFF, Austin Chronicle, Austin Gay Flag Football League, Austin LGBT Chamber, Austin Pride, Austin Public Health, Black Trans Leadership of Austin, Castle Hill Fitness, Equality Alliance, Equality Texas, Friday Friday ATX, Human Rights Campaign, Little Gay Shop, Out Youth, Pride Socks, Rainbow Connections ATX, Stay Black and Live Festival, and the University of Texas.

Located in the heart of downtown Austin, Waterloo Park celebrates our natural environment with a major environmental restoration underway along Waller Creek, 1.5 miles of scenic trails, and thousands of native plants. The 11-acre greenspace is a public park, restored in partnership with the City of Austin, and is open daily from 5am-10pm for everyone to explore and enjoy.
