The Waller Creek Conservancy CEO Peter Mullan and staff, along with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, invite the community to learn about the exciting transformation coming to Waller Creek. Community members will hear how their feedback has been incorporated into the preliminary design of Palm Park and have an opportunity to offer additional feedback at this second round of Palm Park Conversations.
“If Austin families come together at these Palm Park Conversations to add their input and see Waller Creek Conservancy’s hard work and dedication to improving Palm Park, I know we can have a park that meets the needs of our community,” said Council Member Sabino “Pio” Renteria.
The Waller Creek Conservancy, in partnership with the City of Austin, is actively working to revitalize and transform Austin’s Palm Park in conjunction with a restored Waller Creek parks district. All Austinites are invited to learn about the progress of the project and find out more about the plans for Palm Park. Public input is a valuable piece of the design process and we encourage residents from all backgrounds and all areas of the city to come be engaged in this conversation.
“Palm Park is a place for families and children,” said Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo, “and these public conversations provide opportunities for families to actually be a part of transforming Palm Park for the benefit of all families and the community as a whole.”
These sessions are free and open to the public; snacks and refreshments will be provided. Join the conversation on Thursday, September 15, at Waller Ballroom from 6-7:30 pm, or on Saturday, September 17, at AISD Performing Arts Center from 10-11:30 am.
