This week we were thrilled, but not surprised, to hear dwg. (Daniel Woodroffe Group) founder Daniel Woodroffe named the winner in Architecture, Engineering and Design at the 15th annual “Austin Under 40” awards.
When MVVA submitted their Stage II qualifications, they wrote of dwg., “based in Austin and licensed to practice in Texas, dwg. is deeply invested in promoting design and planning initiatives with the potential to resonate with local culture and catalyze a further strengthening of the social, economic, and ecological life of the city. The firm’s downtown location demonstrates an unshakeable commitment to the urban core.”
Michael Van Valkenburgh told the Statesman last fall: “Daniel Woodroffe and (dwg. principal) Eric Schultz represent what is so exciting about the prospect of working in Austin — both wickedly smart, they embody the energy, inquisitiveness, and love for their city that makes Austin a truly unique and exciting place to work.”
Daniel is passionate about design excellence, collaboration and public service. He is an urban open-space advocate and is currently the Austin Parks Foundation board president. He is also a board member of the Downtown Austin Alliance, and is chair of the Congress Avenue WOW Committee.
The conservancy is so proud to be working with Daniel and we congratulate him on his well-earned win.
