The Waller Creek Conservancy held its inaugural event in Palm Park on Sunday, March 11, 2012. The event, Arts of Palm, was a multi-media affair with four Austin video artists showing an eclectic mix of work in the empty Palm Pool.

In addition, local artist and musician Christopher Brown installed a piece on the fence surrounding the pool. The fence wrap, which highlighted the tag line, Go With The Flow, drew many onlookers attending SXSW.

Arts of Palm was attended by over 100 people, many enjoying the art from inside the pool. Arts of Palm caught the eye of media outlets including the Austin American Statesman, which gave the event a glowing review. The successful and sustained activation of this great urban park is integral to the Conservancy’s efforts to act as steward of Waller Creek.
