Waterloo Park
Opening August 2021

Leadership Circle Hero

Waterloo Park is waiting for you!

This August, you’ll be able to get lost exploring 11 acres of revitalized greenspace, 1.5 miles of trails, stunning Hill Country Gardens, the Moody Amphitheater, and so much more. Waterloo Park will soon become a natural haven where Austinites and visitors alike can enjoy the outdoors, gather with friends, and build community.

Just Announced: Waterloo Park & Moody Amphitheater Scheduled to Open August 2021

Located between 12th and 15th Streets and along Red River and Trinity Streets, Waterloo Park will soon transform the face of downtown Austin.

Made possible through a public-private partnership between the City of Austin and Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, the revitalized 11-acre Waterloo Park will be both a central hub of activity and a catch-your-breath haven for every Austinite. More than 1.5 miles of tree-lined hike-and-bike trails will guide you through stunning Hill Country gardens filled with native plants and wildflowers and on to lush wetland terraces flourishing within a radiantly restored Waller Creek. You’ll be able to stroll across an elevated skywalk, picnic by imaginative playscapes, or lie down and laugh awhile in the expansive Great Lawn that rolls up to the world-class Moody Amphitheater. The experiences in Waterloo Greenway’s largest meetup point will be as limitless as your imagination.

Since 1978, Waterloo Park has been home to many authentically Austin experiences such as Spamarama, Pachanga, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Mess with Texas, and the Ice Cream Festival. Waterloo Greenway looks forward to building upon the legacy of live music, festivals, and public art once hosted at Waterloo Park. Waterloo Park will unite our neighbors, honor different cultures in our community, and commemorate this green space as a common ground where we all come together.
